This surgeon operated on my right shoulder a year ago after throughly X-raying and mri my shoulders . When he had collated all the info we talked and discussed my options and he was great with the advice and never rushing me out the door ! He took his time and made me feel like I was his only patient ( he has loads he is a very busy man) After working his expertise on my shoulder is it like new ! The care I received from this gentleman was no less than excellent! He has magic hands ! I cannot thank him and the NHS at St. Peter’s hospital Woking enough ! Absolutely fantastic care was given to me and fantastic aftercare advise ! I owe my pain free fully mobile shoulder joint all to him ! Dr Polyzois was extremely helpful and supportive, and did an excellent subacromial decompression on my shoulder. I am very glad that I had the surgery done and my shoulder is pain free and fully mobile.

I had shoulder pain for 12 years, this doctor operated on me, found I had a damaged disk which was removed and the pain has gone. I am so happy about the fact I decided to go for this operation as I was scared it wouldn't work, the Ashford hospital staff are fantastic and highly recommend this hospital. Mr Ioannis polyzois was helpful. he came to see me before the operation and had a follow-up to see how I was getting on. he was pleased with the result. Use this doctor and his team highly recommended A+++++ :)

In October 2017, I was misfortunate enough to have a cycling accident which shattered my clavicle (collarbone), that day I attended St.Peter's hospital in Chertsey and an x-ray confirmed my worst fear and the extent of the break. Fast-forward two days and I had been fast tracked through the admissions process to a consultation with Mr Polyzois. He immediately congratulated me on a 'job well done', which considering the amount of pain I was in, I actually appreciated the humour. He gave me a couple of options on treatment, but due to the obvious state of the injury, surgery was in his opinion was the best course of action. A formal session was required to discuss the injury the next day, as I’d opted to have the surgery using my private health insurance, which meant I could be operated on, that Thursday (just 4 days from accident) The day of the surgery, Mr Polyzois came up to see me before I went down for the general anaesthetic, he was very open and spent the time with myself and my wife to answer any questions or concerns. Surgery itself went to plan, and a phone call from him on the Friday whilst I was full of morphine in my bed explained much the same. Had the pleasure of his time over the next six weeks at several follow-up consultations to review the healing process, and again genuinely taking time with his patient to explain the recovery and healing process. So my review.….. “Outstanding”. Mr Polyzois is a true gentleman, hugely talented, humble, but most of all caring, I felt like he genuinely cared about my health. I think the only thing he could have done more, was pick me up for my appointments with him.

I went in for four procedures on the 3rd of January, a decompression, a bone shaving and a repair to a partially torn bicep tendon and a repair to a full thickness tear of my suprispinatus tendon. I was told to wear a sling for 4 weeks minimum, and to expect a slow recovery, with no excessive movements for 3 months, no active weight training for 6 months. Today (29 days post op), I have seen Mr Polyzois for a check up. I took the sling off over a week ago as I had no pain and it was more uncomfortable in the sling than out. I have full range of motion and zero pain at all. I have even been carrying my 9 month old baby around using my left arm solely, as well as all household chores with no pain or discomfort. I am a very fit and healthy individual and I am sure this is a factor to my speedy recovery, however it would not have been possible if Mr Polyzois had not done and absolutely brilliant job! He was brilliant throughout the whole process and genuinely listens and cares. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone with shoulder problems. If you have any issues, even if someone else has already ago at it and it isn't quite right, go and see this guy. I have been very impressed on all accounts.
